In the Morning

In early October I decided to drive out to the Linn Cove Viaduct on the Blue Ridge Parkway to take in the sunset. It was a blue sky day and I was excited to see the hues of golden light that sunset would produce on the surrounding landscape of Autumn color. As it often is in the Blue Ridge Mountains, the clouds pushed their way in just before sunset and I was left with nothing to see. The next morning I returned to the Viaduct to witness a beautiful sunrise. The valley was full of clouds and there wasn’t a single one overhead.
