Emily and Tim are getting married next April.

So, we decided to snap a few photos in honor of their engagement. Late September along the Blue Ridge Parkway is a beautiful thing. So is true love.

We played in the creek. We hopped barbwire fences. We climbed old oak trees (well, I did at least). We sipped wine as we watched the sun set behind Grandfather Mountain. Such a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

I’ve known Anne for years. From back in my Asheville days. She and Chris met at a Young Life camp in high school. It wasn’t until years later, though, that they decided they were in true love.

In the Summer of 2009 Anne decided to move to Seattle so that she and Chris could study for the MCAT together. During her drive from Asheville to Seattle I hitched a ride as far as Colorado, where I had an apartment at the time. It was during that summer that Anne and Chris started dating and decided they were in true love. I like to think that I helped facilitate that. You know. Since I helped her with the drive to Seattle and whatnot.

Anne and Chris were married on a cold December day in downtown Asheville. The candlelit ceremony was held at dusk in a small courtyard surrounded by their friends, family, a giant Christmas Tree, and a sweet dune buggy. With a build your own Ramen Bar, a lamp just like the one in A Christmas Story (you know which one I’m talking about), and 30 floating lanterns at the end of the night, the reception was a hit!

Kelly and Corey were married two weeks ago in a small clearing in the forest, surrounded by family and friends. They celebrated in a field with a real live honkey tonk band, a bonfire, and a fireworks show.

It was a blast!

But really, this was one of the most fun weddings I have ever been a part of either behind the camera or in front of. Two of Kelly and Corey’s friends were kind enough to offer the land behind their house as a wedding venue and it was the perfect setting. The ceremony took place in a beautiful outdoor chapel that Corey and their friends created in the forest a few weeks ago. Fifty yards away, the reception took place beneath a massive tent in the middle of a field. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect. The bonfire and s’mores were a great addition. The fireworks show at the end of the night was a perfect way to wrap things up.

Kelly and Corey, I hope you have a blast on your month long road trip. I must say I’m jealous. But you already knew that.
